The media are not toys… they can be entrusted only to new artists, because they are art forms.

Macchia is an editorial project that investigates the relationship between man and nature, in particular how the territory of a place can influence its history and social context.
The research is focused on the Sardinian hinterland, where the harsh and wild landscape has shaped behaviors, lifestyles, and indigenous social models over time. This scenario is as ancient and complex as the events that have occurred there and the codes that have emerged from them. Silence and tradition are the protagonists of this reality, with the Mediterranean macchia as the backdrop.
The bond between man and nature is almost a constraint: hence the desire to explore the concept of darsi alla macchia in its broadest sense - to disappear into nature - by retracing the path of a hypothetical protagonist who, starting from the everyday life of a rural context, enters the forest until he is completely immersed in it.

The narrative line develops around the reconstruction of the character’s point of view, alternating two times: the present, represented by the photographs, where the subject moves through the territory; and the past, where the documents symbolize the memories that re-emerge as flashbacks.
Landscapes, old love letters and family portraits are mixed with illustrations, marking the viewers’ journey and gradually accompanying them through the eyes of the protagonist, who ventures deeper and deeper into the nature until he is absorbed by it.
